BBQ Wars: Weber vs. Napoleon

Whether you’re an avid grill-master or just a casual burger flipper – you’re likely to be familiar with two heavy hitters in the BBQ space: Weber and Napoleon. If you’re in the market for a new ‘cue this summer – the question may arise, which grill is right for me? We’ve broken down some key aspects of both brands, to help you make a more informed choice when you walk into the store to buy.

History

Weber has been making barbecues since 1952.

Napoleon has been making barbecues since 1980.

Both brands evolved from a history of metal working, and both know how to make a solid grill.

Power

The winner here, in our opinion, would be Napoleon. If you want maximum BTU’s for the perfect sear – Napoleon wins. More burners = more power. Extra burners allow for more options when cooking - different temperatures and cooking zones for any requirement.

Space

Napoleon is there winner here as well. In general, Napoleon grills offer a larger grilling surface. This lets you get extra burgers on there when you’re entertaining and still space to add that hot dog for the picky kid.

Storage

The winning brand here for us is Weber. Weber has the ability to move the propane tank outside of the grill – allowing for more storage space. If you don’t mind the look of it, it’s a great way to store all your brushes, trays, rotisseries, and probes.

Style

Do you need quick access to a propane tank? Go for Weber with an exterior tank.
Do you like a barbeque that fits into a small space? Napoleon has folding side shelves.

Looking for a slick all-black unit? Both Weber and Napoleon have you covered.

For us there isn’t a brand that comes out on top between Weber and Napoleon. In the end it’s up to you to decide what you need and how you want your barbecue to function that will push you towards one or the other in the end. Napoleon and Weber make high-quality grills that won’t disappoint.
