The Ontario chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) was started in 1977 and is one of the leading industry associations for interior designers. The NKBA offers members networking opportunities, support and promotes professionalism, leadership and direction for the professionals who work in the kitchen and bath design industry. Each year the NKBA hosts an awards gala for their members within the design industry and hundreds of attendees show up in anticipation to see who the winners and winning designs will be for the year. We were lucky enough to be a sponsor at this year’s event and got to attend the gala to get the inside scoop and share the experience and winners with all of you.
Throughout the evening we had the chance to talk and connect with so many talented designers like John Barnwell, Raphael Gomes, Dvira Ovadia and Benjamin John Oulette. There were so many incredible designs for both bathroom and kitchen. We saw clean modern concepts, many with brushed bass or copper finishes. Blue seemed to be a very popular choice as well – in all of its shades. It was used on cabinetry, walls and appliances.
At the end of the evening, Tasco Appliances presented one designer with the Pinnacle Winner Award for 2020. Dvira Ovadia, whose beautiful designs won in many categories, was awarded this honour. Her bright modern spaces, with incredible finishes and incorporation of various woodgrains and textures are so beautiful, we were completely blown away.
Overall, we would say the night was a complete success! It was wonderful to see so many incredibly talented Canadian designers together to celebrate design and each other. We can’t wait to see what next year brings and what these talented designers have in store for us. We were honoured to be a proud sponsor of the evening!
