Christmas Dinner Made Easy

Written by Kelly - Goemans Trend Blogger | Dec 13, 2019 1:38:10 PM

We’ve all been there; having to host Christmas dinner and finding out last minute. It’s stressful, time consuming and can ruin a wonderful day with family. Don’t freak out just yet because we’ve got you covered with easy and delicious recipes to please the entire family (well, most of ‘em anyways).

Salt Encrusted Beef Roast

This main course option is so tasty and so simple to put together. It’ll impress the most picky of guests and won’t take long to prep, so you can hang out with the family instead of spending the day in the kitchen. It’s comprised of four, yes four, ingredients which are designed to create the tastiest of roasts. Our tip: buy really good beef if you can, there’s not much here to hide behind.

Beer Cheese Fondue

I’m not sure about you but fondue used to be a holiday staple for our family over the holidays. It’s so fun and really great if you have younger kids or picky eaters coming for dinner. This one is a fun twist with beer added in. It’s only one can so it shouldn’t be an issue for middle-aged kids and definitely a plus for adults. You can always make one without alcohol for the little ones, if you’re concerned. Cut up your favourite veggies, bread and soft pretzels to dip!

Cranberry Brie Bites

This is a serious crowd-pleaser at our house. It’s always requested to make an appearance and we’re always happy to make it. The ingredients are easy to find and it’s super easy to put together, get the kids to help pop in the cheese while you’re at it. Just be warned, you’ll want to snatch some up early, because they’ll disappear fast.

No Stress Gravy

Gravy always seems to be a point of contention at family dinners. It’s so tasty and adds so much flavour, but can be time consuming and tricky if you’re not experienced at making it. This gravy is literally only five ingredients and you can make it ahead and freeze it if you really want to lower your stress the day of.

Honey Roasted Carrots

We love that carrots have become popular again. Especially heritage carrots that have their tops still on, they’re delicious and fancy and really take little to no effort to prepare at all. These ones are roasted and season with honey and cumin. Another great recipe for you to pop in the oven and enjoy your guests while everything is cooking away.
