The Refrigerator

Empty the contents of your fridge drawers and line the drawers with fresh paper towel
Wipe down the fridge shelves and line them with drawer liners or more paper towel
Put a small box of baking soda in the back to soak up the odours
Vinegar is your friend. Use it for cleaning inside your fridge instead of harsh cleaning supplies
Clean out spills as soon as they happen so they don’t solidify
Check weekly for any food that’s going bad and chuck it out
Baking soda with a bit of vinegar will help remove stuck on stains
Stainless steel refrigerators need special cleaning products for the outside, see if the manufacturer recommends one before using something else to avoid damaging the steel

The Stove/Range/Oven

Soapy water and vinegar are your friends here too – we like to use natural cleaners as much as we can when cleaning our kitchen
Use baking soda to create a paste to help safely scrub off difficult stains on the stove top
Take a skinny spatula, wrap it in a thin cloth and use that to skim along the edges to clean out those tiny crevices
Use your ovens steam clean or self-clean options to clean internally – just be sure to follow the instructions from the manufacturer
Fill up a large sink with hot water and vinegar and soak your oven racks for a few hours to make them easier to scrub clean
Be sure to double check with the manual before doing anything to your stove/oven to make sure nothing gets ruined

The Dishwasher

Rinse dishes well before placing in the dishwasher, focus on removing larger pieces of food
Use a natural cleaner on a cloth to wipe off the front and controls weekly
Use a cleaning tablet once a month to rinse out the inside
Pop out the filter within the bottom of the dishwasher and carefully scoop out any sediment or large chunks of food
You can use vinegar in a bowl instead of buying a cleaner however be careful not to use it too often as it can affect the rubber parts inside your dishwasher
Use a toothbrush to scrub the wash arms and utensil baskets with baking soda to get off hard stains

Before using any of these tips to check with the user’s manual of your appliances.
